Zindi (www.zindi.africa) is pleased to introduce its platform to the Kenyan community, at its first networking event in Nairobi, this October.

| Press Release: October 1 2018 |

| Nairobi- Kenya | The Zindi Data Science competition platform will be launched by the CEO, Mrs. Celina Lee, at a breakfast meeting to be held at Strathmore University, on Tuesday 16 October 2018.

This event is the one of eight Zindi launch events hosted across Africa this month and is open to organizations that are interested in exploring concrete and practical steps towards leveraging advanced uses of data such as machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI).

No data background is necessary, as the event is an informative session that aims to provide discussion and networking opportunities to all attendees.

The breakfast event will be co-hosted by Tabarin Consulting and Strathmore University from 6:30 – 9:30 am on Tuesday 16 October 2018, kicking-off with a discussion on the current state of data practices among Kenyan companies and universities.

An introduction to Data Science will follow, with Mrs. Lee leading a review of services and practical tools that organizations can use on their data journey, including a tour of the Zindi competition platform.

Further events in the region includes a Data Hackathon Meet-Up on 13 October 2018, hosted by AI Kenya at Moringa School in Nairobi and another hackathon meet-up on 18 October 2018, hosted at Innovation Village in Kampala, Uganda.

The Zindi platform hosts competitions and a community of data scientists that apply machine learning and AI techniques to solve Africa’s toughest challenges. Zindi launched with an inaugural set of competitions at the AI Africa Expo held in Cape Town in September this year. New competitions will be introduced each month.
